A1A Marathon & Half Marathon

What the A1A Marathon & Half Marathon is doing to be more 'Green-Friendly':
  • Event information is sent out via email rather than US Mail.
  • Participants are encouraged to register online rather than by paper registration.
  • Southern Waste will be partnering with the Fort Lauderdale A1A Marathon to help Recycle all cardboard, paper cups and plastic bottles (water bottles and POWERade bottles) on the course and at the expo.
  • Southern Waste will also help us sort post-race food to be composted.
  • Port-o-potty units will be serviced with Environmental Toilet Deodorizer and will also provide toilet paper manufactured with recycled content.
  • 100% Organic cotton runner’s t-shirt.
  • Race cars & trucks will be discouraged from idling while working race day.
  • Preferred parking for carpoolers
  • Reusable bags for package pickup.
  • Commuter offsets will be available for purchase online soon!

About the A1A Marathon & Half Marathon:

The Fort Lauderdale A1A Marathon attracts over 4,000 runners from across the nation to the sunny ocean side course. The race begins at the Museum of Discovery and Science in Ft. Lauderdale, east downtown Las Olas Blvd., along A1A and ends right on the ocean.

Entertainment along A1A Boulevard will feature numerous local bands, radio stations, cheerleaders, fans, and volunteers setting the stage for an exciting race to remember. Proceeds from the Fort Lauderdale A1A Marathon will benefit the United Way of Broward County, and Live United, Run United.
