The Bear Mountain Resort 10K

What The Bear Mountain Resort 10K is doing to be more 'Green-Friendly':
  • To reduce our event's carbon footprint, we have partnered with www.pickuppal.com to promote ridesharing to the event. Pickup Pal will record how many km's and C02 emissions are saved from ridesharing to our event.
  • Event information is sent out via email rather than Canada Post.
  • Participants are encouraged to register online rather than by paper registration. Last year 2/3 of all participants registered online.
  • Post race food is composted.
  • Paper waste from the event is recycled.
  • Racer goodie bags are made of 100% biodegradable plastic bags.
  • Proceeds from the event support the Vancouver Island Marmot Recovery Fund.

About The Bear Mountain Resort 10K:

Hosted by the Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa this scenic and challenging 10k run begins in the Westin Bear Mountain Resort village and winds its way up and down along the Jack Nicklaus co-designed golf course cart paths.  With panoramic ocean, mountain and city views you can be assured this will be the most beautiful 10k you have ever run.

The course has is regarded as “Canada’s Most Challenging 10k", because of three distinct hills on the course that have been named Papa Bear, Momma Bear and Baby Bear as well as many rolling hills throughout the rest of the run.  Participants will also run across bridges, past a waterfall and at one point go through a 30m long tunnel before finishing next to the fountain in front of the Westin Bear Mountain.
