Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon

What the Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon is doing to be more 'Green-Friendly':
  • Working towards organic/hemp t-shirts or eliminating t-shirts all together and replacing with local running apparel.
  • Reusable bags for package pickup.
  • Composting.
  • Including the video, “Garbage” in each race bag to raise awareness.
  • Commuter busing with bio fuel.
  • Encouraging runners to bring their own water bottles/coffee mugs.
  • Recyclable cups.
  • Eliminating individual bottles of water and using 19L jugs.
  • Recycling dead shoes.
  • Online registration and race reports.
  • Small paper cups/no wax for aid stations.
  • All money raised will go towards green projects in Central America and West Africa.

About the Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon:

The Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon is entering into its 13th year and claims one of the most beautiful routes in Canada! Through woodlands, beside mountain streams, past a historic mine site, and surrounded with stunning views of mountain scenery, the half marathon course is sure to inspire! The track is a combination of asphalt and high quality gravel trails with several short climbs and winding paths. Not ready for a half? Our 10 and 5km are just as inspiring!

This RACE for GREEN does not just stop in our backyard but extends around the globe. All proceeds from this race are directed to partnering communities in Central America and West Africa to support green projects such as reforestation, organic agriculture and water management.
