About The Kenyon College Earth Day Challenge:
The Kenyon College Earth Day Challenge is an eco-friendly marathon in rural Knox County Ohio. The race follows the paved Kokosing Gap Bike Trail which runs along side the Kokosing River - an Ohio State Scenic River and Water Trail, flowing through forested gorges and agricultural areas. A short (2.8 mile) loop circles the campus of Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio before returning to the bike trail. This is the second year for the race, which is USATF certified and makes use of chip timing.
The Earth Day Challenge is an intimate, walker-friendly marathon that features all-natural products on-course from Hammer Nutrition. Each runner will receive a goody bag full of products from Airborne, Bumble Bar, Ocean Potion Sunscreen, RoadID, and other sponsors. The Earth Day Challenge marathon is the culmination of Earth Day Week, which includes "Park It for the Planet" green commuting initiatives and the Earth Day Expo and Health Fair on April 20.
