About The Sustainability Institute's Green Village Tour 8K Run / 5K Walk:
The Sustainability Institute is hosting its 2nd Annual Green Village Tour 8K Run / 5K Walk. This unique event highlights various projects in the North Charleston area that have undergone environmentally conscious development, helping to green the community and revitalize the area. The race also raises awareness about the Sustainability Institute's mission and all money raised directly supports training and outreach programs - including energy audits, homeowner and building professional workshops, and community enrichment and outreach to low-income households within our 26 neighborhood partners. The success of this event not only raises awareness about the community, but assists in bringing the Low Country community together. By supporting this event you will be endorsing a commitment to the sustainable growth of our communities and the protection of our state's natural resources for future generations.
The Green Village Tour is quickly becoming one of the Low Country's most anticipated "green" annual events.
The officially timed race on a certified course draws serious runners and families alike, all enjoying a well-organized sporting event that also benefits a great cause. The support of the City of North Charleston, local running clubs, area businesses and local media makes this one event you won't want to miss.
